Judging

yesterday at our weekly meeting, we discussed Jesus' teachings in Matt. 7 and Luke 6, where he says, "Do not judge..."

we also looked at the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector, as well as the beginning of Romans 2.

There was a word about bitterness, along the lines of Hebrews 12.

So we are on a bit of a journey to get free in regard to this measuring people ungenerously. An ungenerous measure. That's the problem. Why? Because we tend to limit the degree to which we will believe that we are truly loved by Father. I'm sure of it. Dare to believe that He loves you. That you are precious and beloved, and that he is going to take care of all of the layers and levels of "it" that you've got. Let fear give way to love in the Great Displacement of the soul.

  2. Judging... Interesting topic, and one I still don't think I have fully figured out.
Matthew 7:1 seems to tell us never to judge others, while Luke 6:37-42 seems to say that we can't judge others while if we are involved in sin, and John 7:24 tells us that we can judge - provided it is by righteous standards rather than superficial ones.
The issue is muddied further by those who recite Matt 7:1 whenever their own (or their ally's) sin is exposed. If we don't judge wickedness, the church will quickly become home to hypocrisy, perverse teachings and behaviors, and heresy. So what to do?
As I said at the beginning, I don't have it fully figured out, but I do have a few ideas; rather than enumerate them now, however, I'd like to hear what conclusions were reached at your meeting...
I miss you guys (a lot).
