  1. Dude, I totally dig some of his points, but does he realize that "faith alone", those two words are not found anywhere in scripture together, except to say that one is not saved by faith alone in the scroll of St. James? I know where he is coming from, but some of his message is confusing. I don't know man, part of me thinks that if Paul Washer met me, he wouldn't like me, not cuz of my theology but because Im not trying hard enough to let Jesus pull me up by my bootstraps. Get the irony in that?
    Peace on the Chase house!

  2. I know the crossroads stuff was pretty messed up but I agree with John on this one.

I have heard Paul before and his message doesn't sit well with me. Lots of guilt and condemnation, "you're not doing enough!" type thing.

  3. i don't know guys... paul's message isn't the same way i preach, either. maybe he might not like me because i'm so "i only do what i see the father doing" in my walk.

i believe in hell. and i DON'T run off preaching hard and desperate all the time. I'm not a crying out voice a lot of the time. you both know me.

and you have both seen those times when i present the very message elements that are in Paul's message...

by the way, i HATE the video on that little clip. i loved the movie 300. Shamgar was one of the judges and he was bloodier than that movie. and that's good word for us.

my point: i think there's a lot about Paul that doesn't translate exactly into our lives, in terms of contextual stuff... but the reality that the scriptures are calling christians into the fear of the Lord is solid... people need to hear that...

whether or not he "likes us" isn't the point. is or is not what he is saying true?

    how are some points flexible?
    which are not flexible?
Let's look past this messenger into the message...

    some thoughts.

  4. I am going to throw the bulk of my response on your most recent entry so it will be a little less confusing.

I agree that "liking us" is not the point.

It is the spirit in the message. I get the sense that in his eyes I would be damned because of some of the cd's on my shelf or because my son's use to watch Pokemon and still watch the Simpson's.

  5. and you guys know how it is! Paul and the other dude'd get in there and probably end up one more testimony of how JESUS wins.

I repent of seeming to put one saint up against another. Both of those guys are better than me, when it all comes out.

I reckon that all of them, and myself included would love all of you, since obedience to the master calls us to such... who can resist the grace to be allowed to serve the master?

Let us love, in truth and deed, telling the truth about Jesus... and to Jesus.
