Stunning.

this was a stunning example of the church putting the things of men before the things of God. Check for the name "Jesus" and any clues toward the components of the Gospel..

and hey, read this that i wrote 2 years ago almost to the date...

  1. seriously, listening to it again, reading the comments, i'm AMAZED. Read Jeremiah. holy cows! all over the place...

Jesus, people! Jesus people! Awake! there is such a thing as the judgment and a better resurrection.

of COURSE not everybody will like a "church", but it seems like hardly anybody who buys into this will like JESUS HIMSELF.

Jesus, Himself. That is what the church is about. And we're all wrong with the "churches" talk. There is only ONE church, and all the marketing and hype and programming and outreaches are missing the point that Jesus, HIMSELF is the point. He is what it is all about.

    this one reality is everything.

This one man, jesus, is everything.

  3. ughhh,

One of the most telling points to me was when he said that God is gathering his people basically saying that mega-church is what God is doing now.

How about the stats from the past few years of christians leaving the church in droves?

I have press release from Rick Warren from about 5 years ago saying mega-church's are dinosaurs.

check out scripture when the church tries to gather and build God scatters.

  4. i believe that there are many saints among the gathering at megachurches who yearn to be discipled and taught and sent into the ministry as Jesus commanded us.

i am troubled that they may be sitting under false teaching, or a form of godliness that is in opposition to the Truth (who is Jesus).

I hope anyone who is troubled by this kind of post and comment thread will consider seriously that it is LIKELY that things are getting really really dark and confusing.

The Truth is that Jesus loves you and is calling you to repent of all your sinning and turning aside and come and abide in Him, listening to Him, being taught by Him, along with others who are caught up in that...

There are teachers and preachers and folks who are into that, and you can find yourself maturing into a full Christian in this world, suffering the cost and enjoying the hope of eternity in the Kingdom of Christ.

    Jesus loves you!

  5. ...if megachurch pastors agree with this kind of thing, they aren't faithful.

getting word to Brian Tome is difficult, but I'd like him to know that the Jesus of Scripture both rebuked and received Pharisees and Sadduccees who were repentant.

Turn from falsehood. Follow Christ. Lose all to Gain God.

  6. Ah, Lew, when will you realize that it's all about being cool and making money? You do not know the POW-ER of the Dark Side.

What I want to do, seriously, is create a troupe of Christian Merry Pranksters. We could do a couple things I have in mind:
    1. Load up bus fulls of grubbykupps and take them to these atriums and see what happens when we try to hang out.

    2. Siphon gas from the cars in the lot and give it to the poor. Actually, Roz and I are working on a video about this, based on plundering the Egyptians...

Finally, it is a fact: there is no county in America that has more people in church today than it did in 1990. Churches grow, the kingdom dies.

  7. dudes, do you know how many cops there are there? with Guns? I'm serious, i could get arrested tehre in a new york minute.

so we'd better call the newspaper first.

Jesus talked about what to do when dudes steal from you...

    holy crap. I'm in, boys!

can i skate through the atrium?

seriously though, just to hang out there and sing a praise song or two... that'd be awesome.

    Lew
